Sisters and Brother Mitevski is a family-run production company based in Macedonia.
Labina, Teona and Vuk successfully launched their company in 2001. Labina is one of most acclaimed actress coming from Balkan region, starting her carrier in Golden Lion awarded and Oscar nominated film Before the Rain. In the company she is responsible for the production. Teona is director who finished her master degree at the prestigious Tisch School of Art, NYU and Vuk is painter and sculptor, working as set designer and art director and animator.

In 2001 they started with short film "Veta" which received the Special Jury award at the Berlin Int. Film Festival. 
"How I Killed a Saint" (2004) was first feature film, which was made under the auspices of SISTERS AND BROTHER MITEVSKI. The film premiered as the part of 2004 Rotterdam IFF "Tiger Competition" and has won numerous prizes, incl. Grand Prix Best Film Award at Crossing Europe FF, Linz, Austria.

Feature film "I Am from Titov Veles" (2007), which has been theatrically released in 15 countries in 2008/2009, including in the USA, and was screened in the official programmes at the following festivals: Berlin IFF – Panorama; Sarajevo FF (also won Special Jury Award); Toronto IFF and Pusan IFF . The film also screened at 2008 Cannes Film Festival - ACID selection and was invited to more than 80 festivals around the world and won over 20 international awards.

"The Woman Who Brushed off Her Tears" (2012)with Victoria Abril made its world premiere at the 2012 Berlin IFF - Panorama Special and traveled to more than 40 worldwide film festivals incl. Pusan IFF, Sarajevo FF and 2014 edition of Visions Social, a sidebar selection to the  Cannes Film festival among others.

In 2014. we have completed documentary serial (4 episodes of 35 min.) about Mother Teressa, produced for Macedonian Television. 

We are currently shooting "The Boy With a Torn Sock in the Right Hand", a short clay – stop animation film,  animated by Vuk and scripted by Teona. First short animation, "Alerik", still travels on festivals (40 by now) and wins awards.

Our last feature film "When the day had no name" by Teona, co-production between Macedonia, Slovenia and Belgium, is in postproduction.

All the above films were directed by either Teona or Vuk, while this year we've entered also in co-productions, completing as minority partners new feature films by acclaimed directors Christi Puiu (Romania) - "Sieranevada" and Damjan Kozole (SIovenia) - "Nightlife".

Sieranevada premier will be at Cannes Film Festival 2016, main competition.


Labina Mitevska, producer and managing director of Sisters and Brother Mitevski Production is member of the European Film Academy and  EAVE national representative. In 2014 she was "Producers on the Move" by EFP at Cannes Film Festival.

Sisters and Brother Mitevski company motto is: "Cinema is first and foremost a visual form and it is our duty to use it masterfully and push its limits."
